Sophia Naomi Crooks Stanley died on January 10, 2013, on her 85th birthday. The family believes she wanted to live until she celebrated her 85th birthday. Naomi was born in 1928 to Erasmus Asbury and Sally Myrtle Morris Crooks in Sykesville, Maryland. There will be a funeral service at Faith Baptist Church on Holden Road on Monday, January 14, at 1:00 pm, with the Reverend Ron Smith and Reverend Scott Daniel officiating. The interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Naomi is survived by her children, Beverly Stanley Campbell, Darlene Stanley Beal and husband, James, Barbara Stanley Eanes and husband, Scott , Talmadge Stanley and wife Bettie, Ray David Stanley and wife Brenda, Randy Stanley; 14 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and a brother, Ed Gunter of Baltimore, Maryland. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home.
