Olga Isela Leon

Olga Isela (Arellano) Leon, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a brief illness in Albuquerque, NM on June 9, 2024. Born on June 12, 1950 in El Paso, TX to Jesus Arellano and Consuelo Rivera Arellano, she was the only girl of seven brothers and sisters. She graduated from Ysleta High school where she fell in love with baseball and lowrider cars and later working in a jean and boot factory.  She later married Francisco Leon and had two sons, Rene and Erik. In 1999, she moved to Albuquerque, NM where she raised her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, which were her pride and joy. In her spare time, she enjoyed being around people, her family, watching movies, playing games, watching sports and spending time traveling back and forth to visit family in El Paso. An avid sports lover, she enjoyed following her grand and great grandkids play softball and Tball . Above all she loved to relax, enjoy life and be with her family. She was well loved which meant she loved well. 

She is survived by her husband Francisco; two sons Rene and Erik; five granddaughters, Danika, Melissa, Monique, Vanessa and Veronica; three great-grandkids, Mateo, Aimee and Jeremiah; six brothers, Carlos (Charlie), Javier, Hector, Oscar, George and Jesus; as well as many family and friends.

The family would especially like to thank the staff at Lovelace Medical Center for their care and compassion during her illness.
