Olive Irene Montgomery Rudd was born March 26, 1917 on the Montgomery farm 3 1/2 miles west of Belpre Kansas, to Maurice Robert and Mabel Ellen McGuire Montgomery. She, to use her words "Graduated to Glory" on July 28, 2009 in Mesa, Arizona. Olive graduated from Belpre High School as valedictorian of the class of 1934 and married her high school sweetheart Gerald Verne Rudd of Belpre on November 1, 1934, at the home of her sister Iva Montgomery Klaassen in Hutchinson, Kansas. As a girl, Olive accepted Christ as her Savior and served the Belpre Baptist Church in any capacities. Olive was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Mesa, Az, where she was the pianist for Bible Study and the Awannas, sang in the choir, belonged to the American Baptist Women, and the XYZ"s. She was a member of the Saguaro Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Olive was the Belpre postmaster for over 21 years and was the training postmaster for the area. She was active in the Kansas branch of the National League of Postmasters, serving on various committees including convention registration, constitution, and by-laws. She was a delegate to the national conventions of the League. A music lover, Olive was church and Sunday School pianist and organist at Belpre"s Christian and Baptist Churches. Olive played for Kiwanis and other community organizations and events including those at the Velda Rose Clubhouse in Mesa. Olive was predeceased by her husband Gerald Rudd on May 1, 1985, and daughter Rothalea Rudd Miller on March 29, 1986. She is survived by daughter Rhoda Rudd Prall and Richard Prall of Albuquerque, NM, daughter Geraldine Rudd Victor and Dr Frank Victor of Overland Park, KS, son Dr Gerald Patrick Rudd of Phoenix, AZ, son in law Keith Miller of Parker, CO, plus grandson Dr Kirk and Tanya Prall of Boise, ID, granddaughter Kim Prall McCoy and Jim McCoy of Albuquerque, NM, granddaughter Shannon Miller Ridout and Jack Ridout of Toronto, Canada, grandson Devin and Keppy Miller of Madison, AL, grandson and granddaughter Samuel and Sarita Rudd of Albuquerque, NM. Great grandson Jondell Romero and Andrea Romero of Germany, great-grandsons Sean and Zane Prall of Boise ID, great-grandsons Sim, Seth, and Donavan Miller of Madison, AL, Great-great grandchildren Maximo and Ria Romero of Germany. Surviving sister Allene M. Bowman of Mesa and Santa Rosa, CA, and 4 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews in many states.
