Miss Flowers, 102, of Charlotte, NC, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at The Charlotte Health Care Center. She was born in Gaston County, NC, on December 7, 1910, the daughter of the late Marvin Baxter Flowers and Lizzie Simmons Flowers. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters. Ollie was a long-time resident of Booth Garden Apartments and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Miss Flowers is survived by her "adopted" family, Donna Hughes, and her husband, Dennis; special friends, Lucy McCurry, and her husband, Bill. A visitation will be held from 7:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Hankins & Whittington, 1111 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery in Dallas, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 1420 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
