Patricia A. Sheldon

Patricia A. Sheldon, 65, passed away Monday with her family by her side after a brief illness in Syracuse, NY. Born January 3, 1943 in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of Irene Fuss Burza and the late Zygmunt Burza. She moved to Syracuse in 1963. Patricia was a graduate of St. Mary's Institute and the Albany Business College. Patricia was employed for Agway and the Gerharz Equipment Company in Syracuse in accounting. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, summers at camp in Lake Ontario and visiting her granddaughters. Survivors include her husband, Paul Sheldon; a son Louis P. Wassel Jr. of Washington, DC.; a daughter, Nancy Dennis Edwards and their children Madison and Kennedy Edwards all of Pensacola, FL. She is also survived by her mother, Irene Fuss Burza; her sister, Barbara Conrad; and two nieces Julie Christopher Fenton and Jaime Robert Morin and their children, Avery Fenton, Shelby Fenton and Jake Morin all of Amsterdam; two uncles Max Litwa and Stanley Burza of Amsterdam; one aunt Frances Wedrychowicz of Hagaman and cousins. Patricia was predeceased by a sister Nancy Burza. Funeral services will be held on Saturday 8:30 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Funeral Mass to be held at 9:30 AM at The Church of St. John the Baptist, 40 Van Derveer Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. David W. Mickiewicz as celebrant. Burial will take place in St. John's Cemetery in Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
