Patrick Allen Raines

Patrick Allen Raines passed away November 11, 2022, at the age of 73. Pat was born on July 7, 1949, in Virginia to parents Bill and Evelyn Raines. He graduated from Newport High School, Bellevue, Washington, in 1967 and from the University of Washington in 1971 with a degree in Sociology. In May of 1972, he married Linda Marinig, the love of his life for over 50 years. They settled down in Olympia, Washington, in September of 1982 and welcomed their first son, Travis. Two years later in December of 1984, their son Ryan was born. Pat worked for the State of Washington in the Vocational Rehabilitation Field, retiring in August of 2016. Pat and Linda had a boat and cruised in the San Juan Islands for many years. Pat enjoyed bowling, golf, and playing the guitar, and also collected model trains. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Pat is preceded in death by younger brother, Michael Raines; father, Bill Raines; and mother, Evelyn Raines. He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Travis and Ryan; brother, Bill (Joann); niece, Alison; and nephew, Ben (Gina). Friends and family will be received at Timberline Baptist Church for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. The church address is 6628 Mullen Road SE, Lacey, WA 98503. The service will be officiated by Pastor Nick Jackson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
