Paul Joseph McCarthy, aged 76, died in Lakewood Colorado on June 22, 2023, of complications from a stroke. He was born in Scranton Pennsylvania and moved in early childhood to Wilmington Delaware and then Newark Delaware, where he graduated from Newark Senior High School in 1965. After high school Paul worked as a weather clerk for United Airlines in Washington DC. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1966 and served in duty locations in San Antonio Texas, San Francisco, Elmendorf Alaska, West Virginia and Da Nang South Vietnam. After his service he returned to his position at United Airlines. Paul loved sports, reading newspapers and books, collecting vinyl records, and films. Later in his life he worked in a collectible record shop. Paul enjoyed traveling to California, New Mexico, and Wyoming. He had also traveled to Australia, Canada, and Mexico. His parents, Paul J. and Dorothy (Gleason) McCarthy predeceased him. He is survived by his siblings, Jean Haddock (Lynn) of Elkton Maryland, Jerry McCarthy (Sarah) of Denver Colorado, Margie Kerns of Billings Montana, Cathy Gudzune of Wilmington Delaware, and eight nieces and nephews. He was a loving and kind man.
