Paul Shaver
November 22nd, 1929 - March 1st, 2015
Paul Shaver, 85, passed away at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte on March 1, 2015. Paul and his wife, Pat wintered in Punta Gorda FL. for the past 12 years. Paul was born in Bryn Mawr, PA. on November 22, 1929 to Paul Vincent Shaver, Jr. and Dorothy Althouse Shaver. He was a proud Navy veteran of the Korean War and graduated from Drexel University on the GI Bill as a mechanical engineer. He and his wife moved to Harrisburg PA in1978. He retired from Jackson Manufacturing (Black and Decker) in 1990. He was active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Philadelphia Chapter of the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation and the Harrisburg Area Canoe Club. He was a skilled sailor and cabinet maker. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Roussel and four children; Mary McCormick, Susan Loyd Turner (John Turner), Laurie Shaver and Jon Shaver (Helene Rutledge) also nine grandchildren, seven great-grandsons, sister Helen Hanson (Carl Armagost), brother Jerome Shaver (Isabel), brother-in-law Richard Roussel and several nieces and nephews. His brother Kurt Shaver predeceased him Arrangements are by Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory. Memorial services will be held in Harrisburg PA.
