Penny W. Pickering, 53, of Main Street, Fultonville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at her home. She was born in Fulton, NY on December 7, 1953 daughter of the late Curtis and Laura Stevens Pickering. Penny was a lifelong resident of the area having graduated from Fonda-Fultonville Central School in 1972. She worked as a Nurses Aid for several years for the former Montgomery County Home in Yost. She most recently worked at Buckhorn Restaurant in Fultonville until her recent retirement due to heath problems. Besides her parents, Penny was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer Pickering in April of 2007. Her loving family includes her son, Michael Gloria Pickering of Fonda, two sisters, Gale Daley of Rotterdam and Helen Milt Thayer of Syracuse, and three brothers, John Pickering of Sprakers, Curtis Pickering of Fultonville, and Keith Jeannie Pickering of Ft. Plain. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be at 6:00PM on Monday, October 22, 2007 at Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY with Rev. Christopher DeGraaf of Fonda Reformed Church officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the services from 5:00 to 6:00PM at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the services. Donations in Penny?s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205.
