Conroy, Peter J. ?Pete?, 62, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday, April 27th, 2005 at Long Term Care of St. Petersburg under Hospice care. He came here in 1958 from his native Stamford, CT and he attended St. Petersburg High School. He worked at the St. Petersburg Country Club for the past 10 years and prior to that he was a Captain on a commercial fishing boat. He also enjoyed building boats. In the 1960?s, he raced motorcycles at Daytona International Speedway as well as other race tracks. He was of the Episcopalian faith and was an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by 2 brothers, Dan of Madeira Beach and John of Atlanta; 1 sister, Christy Conroy of Chiefland; 4 nieces and 1 nephew. Anderson-McQueen Funeral & Cremation Centers-Tyrone Chapel.
