Phyllis Sutphin Stark
September 24th, 1936 - March 26th, 2024
Phyllis Ann Stark, 87, of Forest, VA, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of William Frank “Bill” Stark. Born September 24, 1936, in Radford, VA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Allen Sutphin and Eleanor Lillian Smoot Sutphin Eichelberger. She was a retired secretary with Limitorque Company and a faithful member at Timberlake Baptist Church; where she was a member of the choir, Marantha Sunday School Class and Senior Saints. She was also a member of Lynchburg Chapter 54 Order of the Eastern Star (past Matron) and past President of Professional Secretaries Association. In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by one daughter, Tamara Lynn “Tami” Harmon of Forest; two grandchildren, Timothy William Stark (Isabel), Sarah Johanna Martin (Durrell); one great-grandchild, Vienna Stark and a niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by one son, William Frank Stark, Jr., but is survived by his daughter in law, Karen Stark. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Timberlake Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Brody officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 1:00 pm at the church. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society or Gideons International Diuguid Waterlick Chapel (434-237-2722) is serving the family.
