Obituary Phyllis Elaine (Strang) Whittier, 88, of Colorado Springs, passed peacefully on August 16 after a long battle with heart disease. She is survived by her husband, Don, of almost 69 years, and their children. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, sister, and 2 brothers. Phyllis was born in Genoa, Nebraska, on July 12, 1933. She moved to Colorado Springs at 19, where she spent her married life raising her children, Jerry (Cindy) Whittier and Patty (Paul) Magginetti, and loving her 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was owner of Cake Doers in Colorado Springs for many years. In her spare time she loved to crochet and knit. A private celebration of life will be held on August 20 with family and close friends. The family wishes to thank Center Care Hospice for their support. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice in her name. Services You can still show your support by sending flowers directly to the family, or by planting a memorial tree in the memory of Phyllis Elaine (Strang) Whittier
