Surviving Family: Rick and Vickie (parents), Mike (brother), Narcie (sister-in-law), Enoch (nephew) and Evy (niece), Aaron (brother), and Pit Pat (his cat since college). Activities during Youth: As a child Brian was often found playing with his brothers, Mike & Aaron, and their neighborhood friends. He would often spend time reading and playing with his childhood dog, “Spot.” When the family moved to Fort Mill, SC (during Brian’s 4th grade year) he loved playing in the wooded acreage around his family’s home. Later in High School Brian was involved with Latin Club, Drama & Theatre, Student Government, as well as graduating with plenty of AP credits. Religious & Church Activities: Brian grew up with an active faith life attending church with his family and was a charter member of Grace Presbyterian, USA, in Fort Mill, SC. Organizations, Memberships & Activities: Brian loved being members of various wineries here in the Pacific Northwest. He loved taking friends out entertaining his Seattle family for the afternoon. Interesting Work Experiences: Brian loved his new job at Amazon. He was energized by the vibrant work environment and the daily challenges of the job. Brian enjoyed the comradery of working with his friends and colleagues at Amazon. Personal Activities and Hobbies: Brian was an avid reader. He loved reading comics – and has the boxes, and boxes, and boxes to show for his love of comic books. Brian was also quick to share this love of comics through taking friends to comic stores or sharing books with family and friends. Brian took great advantage of the beautiful landscape around Seattle. He loved hiking the mountains and camping in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to hiking, he would have the best time snow skiing with his friends. Brian was quick to invite friends over for a home cooked meal, where he would show off his cooking skills with a bottle of wine. Music was a big part of Brian’s life. If there was a concert of a band he enjoyed, there would be pictures shared of him having a great night enjoying a show. And he grew up playing piano and as an adult taught himself to play the acoustic & electric guitar, banjo, and ukulele. Family Activities / Special Family Functions he enjoyed: Brian always had a great time being around his family. When the family would all gather there would be laughter, games played, and more laughter. Time together with the family was spent making new memories. Brian also loved to dote on his nephew and niece, Enoch and Evy. He would send a box of curated comics each month to them, accompanied by a handwritten letter for each of them. Favorite Places: Brian absolutely loved Seattle. He thrived in the communal nature of the city and was always up for an adventure exploring the spots at night, hiking in the woods, visiting a winery, comic shops, or going to a concert. The only place he was ever interested in living other than Seattle was Charleston, SC, where he graduated from the College of Charleston. In Charleston, Brian had great fun exploring the activities of the city.
