Rebecca Lynn Olsen

Rebecca Lynn Olsen, 43, died on March 13th, 2021, in Meridian, Idaho. She was born in Jerome, Idaho, to parents, Richard Arthur Olsen and Dale Coffman Olsen and grew up in Jerome, Idaho, and in different cities throughout the Bay Area in California. Early in life, Rebecca developed a love for music and nature. Music was a part of Rebecca's soul. She would always say that, “one song can change your entire mood.” She loved art and appreciated the beauty all around us. She would point out beautiful sunsets and sunrises. As a young girl, she moved to California and absolutely loved and appreciated the beach and ocean. She loved athletics and participated in track throughout high school. After graduation, her love of the ocean led her to move to Hawaii. She spent eight years on Maui exploring, hiking, running on the beach, and swimming in the majestic turquoise waters. Many family members and friends have wonderful memories visiting Rebecca in her happy place, listening to great music, and exploring the island. She enjoyed her years working at the Maui Ocean Center and especially rescuing marine life. Later in life, Rebecca moved to Boise, Idaho, to be closer to her family. She became engaged to George Golianis and had her precious son, Adonis. Rebecca had always wanted to be a mother, and she felt truly blessed to be a mom. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a great love for God. She was in awe of God's creations and appreciated them fully. Rebecca was a true friend with a sweet soul. She made an impact when she came into a room and had many many long-lasting friendships because of her loyalty and love for all. Rebecca was preceded in death by her father Richard Olsen, step-mother Linda (Emery) Olsen, and brother James Olsen. She is survived by her son Adonis Golianis, mother Dale Coffman Olsen; brothers, Paul Olsen, Stephen Olsen, Jason Olsen, R Kenneth Jones, Ronald Jones, Peter Olsen; sisters,Rachel Olsen, Sarah Olsen (twin sister), Debra Olsen Murray (Troy), Karen Jones Mitchell, Renee' Jones, and Katie Olsen Furrer (Josiah). A viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m - 12:45 p.m, Saturday, March 27th, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12040 W Amity Rd., Boise, ID 83709. A funeral to honor and celebrate Rebecca’s life will follow the viewing at 1:00 p.m. The graveside dedication will be at Cloverdale Cemetery. Family and friends are invited back to the church after the funeral for lunch and to share memories of Becca's life.
