Richard Lloyd Downs, 78, of Ocklawaha, Florida passed away July 1, 2018 at his home in Ocklawaha, FL. He was born on May 6, 1940 in LaPort, Indiana a son of the late Donald Downs and Dorothy Evans. He served our country for 42 years in the US Army where he was a helicopter pilot and was highly decorated. Richard was loved by daughters, Donna Hewitt of Ocklawaha, FL, Tamara Kyle and her husband, Paul of Ivor, VA and survived by daughter, Jennifer Downs of Mo and sons, Richard Downs, Jr. of KS and Jeffrey Downs of FL. He has 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Chuck Downs of Florida, John Downs of Oregon and Randy Downs of Virginia. Inurnment will take place at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with Military Honors provided by the US Army.
