Richard’s family would like to share some memories and thoughts and they are following. Richard was a quiet, funny, helpful man who was always there for his family. He spent a large portion of his time with his grandchildren and their activities over the years including volleyball tournaments, football games, robotics team competitions and gymnastics meets. He enjoyed gardening, working on cars, tinkering with his lawn mower that always need to be fixed, cooking and helping out whenever needed. Some of our best family memories involved living at the Simpson family Camano Island beach house in the summers, riding in our family boat at Camano Island, camping trips to our family property in Leavenworth WA, a family road trip to Nebraska to see his family and a family road trip to Disneyland. Some of our other great memories with Richard are with extended family at various gatherings over the years. Camano Island weekends, Thanksgiving at the gun club with the Mohler family and Christmas Eve with the Mohler family. We have many stories of boating, eating, clay pigeon hunting all with Richard in them. Richard’s legacy is: service, kindness, humor, hard working faith and family first. His legacy lives on with Sheila, their children and grandchildren. We miss him every day but are grateful for all the good memories. Richard always said “bye for now” and we’re holding on to that.
