Richard Terry Prather, 57, husband of Renee Lawson Prather, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024. He was born on October 31, 1966, in Dayton, OH to the late Iva Davis and Ray Prather. Mr. Prather is a veteran of the United States Army and served as a Police Officer in Jessamine County for 29 years.
In addition to his wife, Renee, those left to cherish his memory includes his daughter, Kylee Jo Prather; sons, Terry Prather, Adam (Alexis) Prather, Josh Prather; stepchildren, Gracie (Max) Mickey, Zachary Travis; sisters, Malinda (Jerry) Jump, Nancy (Bobby)
Reed, Sandy (Donnie) Hamilton; brothers, Wilson (Joy) Prather, Jr., Jesse Glenn Prather; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 6-9pm at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. A funeral service, officiated by Jay Webb, is planned for Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 11am at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, followed by a graveside service at Maple Grove Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY at 1:30pm. The family will return to the funeral home for a gathering of family and friends for fellowship after the graveside service from 2-4pm.
Serving as casket bearers are A.C Thompson, Michael Thompson, Harry Barlow, Zachary Travis, Brian Slone, Justin Reed, Kyle Anderson, and Scott Reed. Bobby Reed will serve as honorary casket bearer.
