Richard J. ""Dick"" Sexton Sr., 74, North Port, FL and formerly of Long Valley, NJ passed away on December 8, 2020 in Venice, FL. He was born on December 09, 1945 to the parents of John and Elsie Waer Sexton in Wharton, NJ. Richard spent his career as a detective for Mt. Olive Township Police department. He is survived by his son Richard Jr. and his wife Kathy of Lehigh Acres, FL; daughter Ellen Forgey and husband Gary Forgey of Budd Lake, NJ; granddaughters, Stephanie and Melanie Forgey of Budd Lake, NJ; grandsons, Gary Forgey Jr. of Budd Lake, NJ, DJ Sexton of Lehigh Acres, FL; two great-grandchildren; fiancé Barbara Misiak of North Port, FL; and one brother, John Sexton of Greene, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Velma (Sylvester) Sexton; and brother Gary Sexton. Farley Funeral Home in North Port is in charge of arrangements.
