Richard Paul Truehart

Richard Paul Truehart, 76, passed away October 25, 2023, in Port Charlotte, FL. He was born on May 10, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA to Ernest and Ruth (Walters) Truehart. He graduated from Abington Senior High School, Abington, PA in 1966. Richard began his professional golfing career in 1975, and was head golf professional at Bucks County Club in Jamison, PA. After moving to FL, he worked at Plantation Golf and Country Club for 14 years, then was starter at Myakka Pines in Englewood, FL. A member of the PGA for 48 years, accomplished player and teacher in the Philadelphia section. He relocated to North Port, FL in 2005 from Doylestown, PA. Richard enjoyed golf, the casino, watching sports (notably the Eagles and Phillies), fishing shows on TV, time with family and friends, spending time with his fur-babies. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and many friends including the Bitches of Ibis Strand. Richard is predeceased by his parents Ernest and Ruth, stepfather John Seraphin and brother Fredrick Seraphin. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 20 years, daughter Patricia (Paul Nolan) of Glenside, PA, sons Richard Scott (Nina) of Newtown Square, PA, Michael R. (Tricia) of White Plains, NY, stepdaughter Judith Russell (Jason Gable) of Coopersburg, PA and 7 grandchildren Megan (Will) Lawless, Kayla (Isaac), Gabrielle, John Paul Nolan, Bennett, Anne, Connor Truehart. Sisters Particia (Ron) Maddish, Lorraine Rainey, Beth (John) Attiani, brothers David (Sharon), Clark (Joanne)Seraphin, Tony and John (Leslie) Seraphin A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00am, December 6th, 2023, Farley Funeral Home North Port, FL In lieu of flowers, please donate to Suncoast Humane Society, 6781 San Casa Drive Englewood, FL 34224
