Filitor, Rita Margaret Mary Lapetina, 78, died Thursday July 27, 2006 from her long battle with breast cancer at home in St. Petersburg. She came here in 1980 from her native Grant City, Staten Island, NY. Rita owned and operated The Chantilly restaurant with her late husband Richard Filitor, Sr. She was a Marian servant at Our Lady of Divine Providence House of Prayer in Clearwater for twenty-four years. The House of Prayer is a ministry of the Marian servants of Divine Providence, a catholic lay ministry of the diocese of Saint Petersburg, with other chapters in FL, LA, MS, GA, and MA. Rita was a past president of Our Ladies Guild of St. Christopher?s Parish in Staten Island, NY. She was a graduate of Saint John?s Villa Academy in Staten Island, NY. Rita was also one of the ?nine beloved imps.? Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Daryl Saylor, St. Petersburg; two sons: Richard Filitor Jr., Woodstock, GA; and Robert Filitor, Staten Island, NY; one brother: Michael Lapetina of Staten Island, NY and one sister Veronica Filitor, of Lake Ariel, PA, and her eight grandchildren.
