Robert Beall, 89,of Lakeland, Georgia, died Monday, January 27, 2014, at Viera Manor Assisted Living in Melbourne, Florida. Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Wilcox County, Georgia, with the Rev. Lawton Sammons officiating. Mr. Beall was born March 14, 1924, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late William R. and Alma Spell Beall. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Beall retired after 40 years with the U. S. Postal Service. He began his career as a railroad mail clerk and retired as a distribution supervisor. He was a former resident of Orlando, Florida, Jacksonville, Florida, as well as Lakeland, Georgia and had recently moved to Florida to be near his daughter and family. He enjoyed fishing and handyman projects. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Elaine & Steve Simmons of Rockledge, Florida; four grandchildren: James Beall of Orlando, Florida, Jacob Beall of Orlando, Florida; Kathleen Rae Simmons of Melbourne, Florida and John Robert Simmons of Orlando, Florida; one great-grandson: Connor James McKenzie and one sister: Dorothy Ray of Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Louise Amanda Clark; a son: Benjamin Beall; four brothers: W. R. Beall, Jr., Clifford Beall, Marion Beall and Homer Beall and two sisters: Frances Leverette and Lucille Watkins.
