Robert H. Mondragon survived by wife of 50 years Vera (Gradilla) Mondragon. Daughter, Valerie (Ken) Lampson; Son, Robert J Mondragon, Daughter, Veronica “Duck” Mondragon; Grandchildren, Sly Mondragon and Nicole Mondragon; Sisters, Lillian “Kitty”(Tom) Anderson and Lucille “Cookie” Chavez; Nephew, Mark Anderson, and Niece, Sophia (Steven) Byers. Robert was born in Raton, New Mexico on March 1, 1944, to parents Robert A. and Aurora “Dora” Mondragon. Robert spent his childhood growing up on various military bases in Maryland and Puerto Rico, among other locations before settling in Denver, Colorado. He served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He retired with over 26 years of service in the Air Force and Air Force Reserves. Robert worked as a Union sheet metal worker from the age of 18 until his retirement from Lockheed Martin. He enjoyed spending time with his family camping, fishing, and taking road trips. Listening to music was one of his favorite past times.
