Robert "Bob" Render
July 19th, 1941 - May 10th, 2017
Robert "Bob" Render, 75, of West Columbia, SC passed away May 10, 2017. He was born in Perth Amboy, NJ to the late William and Dorothy Render. Bob graduated from the old Columbia High School in 1959. He later attended and graduated from USC in 1964. After retiring from IBM, Bob volunteered his time at Congaree National Park, Family Shelter and the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. He was a proud Eagle Scout. He enjoyed spending time at Lake Murray with his family and friends. He will be missed by the many lives he touched. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Angela; his daughters, Kelly (Joey) Hammond of Mt. Pleasant and Elizabeth Render of Columbia, son, John Render of Atlanta; and two grandchildren, Elana and Reece Hammond. He also leaves behind his brother, Ronald (Lynn) Render of CA; sister, Patricia Crosby of Columbia; and sister-in-law, Hilda Render of Columbia. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
