Robert Earl Stowe

Robert E. (Bob) Stowe, 70, passed away Wednesday, March 8th, 2017 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Monday March 13th, 2017 at 3pm at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church in Colfax, North Carolina. Visitation will follow immediately after the service. Bob was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was an active member of Shady Grove Wesleyan Church, member of the choir and Generation Change Sunday School. He was dedicated to the Gideon's and Jail Ministries where he witnessed and led many inmates to the Lord. Bob faithfully shared his life experiences and his love of Christ with anyone he met. He never met a stranger and especially loved children, and they loved him. Bob developed a passion for wood working and blessed many with gifts of canes and walking sticks. He was an inspiration to everyone who met him. Bob was preceded in death by his parents James and Lucille Stowe, his siblings James Stowe, Jr., Nancy Canup, and Gene Stowe; as well as mother-in-law Jessie (Jeep) Pegram and brother and sister-in-law Steve and Sue Pegram. He is survived by wife Mollie Pegram Stowe, daughter and son-in-law Lacey and Jared Barnes, siblings Wayne Stowe and Phyllis Cooper; brother and sister-in-laws Johnny and Marsha Cole, Lee and Gayle Owens, and a host of nieces, nephews, and an abundance of friends - he will be sorely missed.
