Ronald G. Mobley, 71, husband of Kay Hill Mobley, passed away on Wednesday, May 01, 2019. He was born in Lexington on October 13, 1947 to the late Herston and Hazel Mowery Mobley. He was the Director of Respiratory Care at Central Baptist Hospital and provided on-call services to Cardinal Hill Hospital for several years. Ron was involved in local and state respiratory associations and was a Board member of the Allen & Hanburys Respiratory Institute. In recent years, Ron volunteered with Surgery on Sunday and consulted at Commonwealth Oxygen. He was a member of the Landmark Lodge #41 F&A.M.; and the Scottish Rite and Shriners. Ron was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church until his health prevented him from going. Ron’s passion was music. He played guitar in Ronnie and the Sinsashuns in his teenage years. His favorite music was Bluegrass. He played mandolin in the touring bluegrass band, Kentucky Blue for thirteen years, and played with local groups until his health prevented him from playing. Ron’s two dogs, Abigail and Hannah will miss him very much. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Todd (Christy) Mobley, Frankfort; his sister, Sandra Montgomery, Bowling Green; his grandchildren, Noah and Griffin Mobley, and Jennifer Disponette; and his niece, Kathy (Kent) Guthrie. Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 3:00pm until 5:00pm on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. At 4:00 p.m. there will be a brief service of thanksgiving conducted by Rev. Alan Sutherland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Surgery on Sunday at www.surgeryonsunday.org or the Franklin County Humane Society.
