July 22nd, 2024
Ronald F. Rosenau, Pastor in the Presbyterian Church USA, died on July 22, 2024, at his home in Olympia, Washington, surrounded by his family. He was 72. Pastor Ron served in several roles, including Pastor, LeRoy Presbyterian Church, Illinois; Head Pastor, Macomb Presbyterian Church, Illinois; Pastor to ministers and their families of the Presbytery of Philadelphia; and Head Pastor of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, Pennsylvania.Throughout his career, Pastor Ron shared his love and curiosity in the profound grace found in the life of Jesus through sermons, workshops, seminars and study groups with congregants, colleagues, confirmands and strangers. As a gifted speaker and communicator, he found great satisfaction connecting the stories of the Bible to the questions and struggles of everyday life, and in supporting food ministries that feed the hungry no matter who they might be. He held lifelong interests in music, art, nature and storytelling. He was a capable cook who loved tasty suppers and holiday gatherings. In his retirement, he took up painting and completed over 200 watercolor canvases. He loved stormy weather, playing chess and golden retrievers.
A loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, Ron is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ida Thomy Rosenau; his sister, Debbie Mueller of Fort Worth, Texas; his brother, Mark Rosenau of Portland, Oregon; his two adult sons, Zachary Rosenau of Culver City, California, and Joshua Rosenau of Arlee, Montana; his daughter-in-law, Frances Wattman Rosenau, Pastor, Culver City Presbyterian Church; and his two grandsons, Asher and Walden.A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1925 Boulevard Rd.
