Ronald Joseph Uhland
November 19th, 1954 - November 28th, 2016
Ron, Big Ron, Dad, Pop-pop. Were just a few of the titles he carried. He was a man with a big heart, a great smile, wonderful sense of humor and a free spirit. He was most happy spending time with his 6 grand kids. He was a generous soul with his time, resources and muscles. He was always willing to pitch- in and lend a helping hand with family and friends whenever he could. He loved showing up his sons when it came to lifting weights and none of them could ever match Big Ron. Ronald Joseph Uhland Jr. was born on November 19, 1954 in Bridgeton, New Jersey to his father Ronald Uhland and mother Carol Joyce. He was raised in Bridgeton with his brother David and Sister Sandy. He also called Phyllis, mom. And had step-brothers and sisters: Phyllis, Billy, Tony, and Tracy. At an early age he married Kelly and had three amazing children Melanie, Ron III, and Justin. They were the center of his life and he loved every moment spent with them. He never missed an opportunity to be involved in his children's activities. Whether it was coaching teams, taking the kids for outdoor recreation or sitting on a beach in Ocean City, he was always right there in the action. He was most proud of his distinguished career with the New Jersey Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer and a member of the elite Special Operations Group. He made lifetime friendships during his time there and it was always a cherished memory of his life. In pursuit of a new chapter in life, the family moved to Ocean City, NJ and spent 3 years there. It was a time of peace and joy with lots of lazy beach days, nights in Venice, fishing and cheese steaks! As life often changes, a new chapter came for the family again as they moved to Florida. Ron pursued a career in real estate sales and development and was very successful. After his kids were grown he grew to love his two Shi Tzu's Spike and Bandit, who combined had two eyes and half a brain. As time grew on he welcomed a new son and two daughters into the family: Morgan, Lydia, and Ashley. Who gave him the lights of his life: Megan, Averyanna, Markus, Madison, Xavier and King Eli. While one love faded a new love blossomed and flourished. Dianne came into his life and they lit up each other's world. He welcomed a new son Mark into his family. Dianne and Ron were an inseparable couple who shared many passions together and enjoyed life and living it to the fullest. They loved traveling, hiking, biking, exercising and dancing! HE will be deeply and greatly missed by any and everyone who have been blessed and touched by his life. He lived a full life but one thing he never got to see was those Eagles win a super bowl. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer a donation be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida a charity that was essential to the family during Ron's youngest grandchild's stay at Florida Hospital by going to www.rmhorlando.org select donate and indicate "in honor of" gift and enter Ronald Uhland Jr. or by sending check payable o RMHC to 1030 N.
