Ron peacefully passed away at 626 am Wednesday November 6th, 2019 with his daughter Rosemary (Rose) Otero by his side in his residence in Albuquerque, NM. Ron was the third child born to George and Evelyne Beardsley in Omaha Nebraska. Ron moved to New Orleans, Louisiana as a young adult he owned 3 bars while working as a master mason and contractor. In the mid 1980's he moved to New Mexico where his latest piece of public work is on display at the corner of San Mateo and Gibson. He built the arch better known as the 'Chevy on a stick' it is an elliptical arch which means you can stand under it and see through it. He built the arch in 1991 once the arch was complete an artist from Arizona placed a 1954 Chevy on top and tiled the entire structure. Ron was well known for his specialty and custom fireplaces as well as structural work on the Excalibur hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and the pump house to the Waddell Dam. Left to honor Ron is his daughter Rose and 2 grandchildren. Rose would like to extend her deepest gratitude to Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care they provided in his time of need and the support they continue to provide to her and her children. She would also like to extend her gratitude to Ron's close friends for their continued support and genuine friendship. Ron was a wonderful man, excellent single father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all who loved him.
