Royce M. Harris, age 71, of Venice, FL, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 in Venice. He was born on May 26, 1942 in Anniston, AL to William and Cleo Formby Harris. He was a Maritime engineer and served in the US Air Force. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Jones, and brothers Davis Harris and Robert Harris. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Wilma Harris of Venice; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Danny Sacksteder, and grandson Dylan Sacksteder of North Port. Other survivors include David Sparks and family of Knoxville, TN, Wayne Seale and family of Nellysford, VA, and special nephew Lewis Jones of Alabama. He is also survived by brother Bill Harris of Melbourne, FL, and sisters Anne Bateman of Hutchison, KS and Margaret Henry of Monroe, MI. A memorial service will be held at 5PM on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Venice Church of the Nazarene, 1535 E. Venice Avenue, Venice, FL, with visitation beginning at 4:15PM. Interment will be at a later date at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia, AR. Memorials may be made to the Children's Department at Venice Church of the Nazarene, or to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at JDRF.org.
