Ruby Carson
April 7th, 1926 - December 30th, 2017
Ruby Eleanor Carson was born in Osceola, Nebraska on April 7, 1926. She lived in Nebraska until she graduated from Hordville High School in 1944 when she moved to Denver with her sisters. She worked at several jobs in the Denver area and studied at Barnes Business College in the Secretarial Science and Stenographic Departments. This course of study eventually landed her a job at the Denver Federal Center with the Bureau of Reclamation where she worked until her first child was born. While in Denver she joined the Hard of Hearing Club with her sisters and eventually met James Edward Carson. They were married in 1956 and lived in Denver where they raised three children, Diane, Debra, and Mark. She had many interests including sewing, crocheting, embroidery, and business. She was a very talented seamstress. She sewed many things including the Kansas City Royals on the back of a jacket for Mark and matching dresses for herself, Debra, and Diane on many occasions. All items were nicely done. She also embroidered and crocheted many beautiful pieces including clothing, blankets, and towels. In 1985, she went back to Barnes Business College for further study in typing and business English. She was very accomplished in these areas. When her grandchildren were born, she always helped to care for them. She and her husband James cared for Daniel, Nichole, Brian, and Glen when they were children. All remember her fondly. She was preceded in death by her husband James E. Carson, her mother Olga Olson (Swanson), her father Henry Olson, her sisters Iva Olson, Erma Bradbury (Olson), her brothers Henry Olson, Conrad Olson, and Donald Olson, and many dear friends and family members. She is survived by her sister Laura Stone (Olson), her children; Diane Parker (Carson) and husband Tom of Aurora, Debra Plybon (Carson) of Englewood, Mark Carson and wife Shandy of Wagoner, OK. her grandchildren: Daniel Collier, Nichole Parker, Brian Plybon, Glen Parker, Abigayle Carson, and Erik Carson, her many nieces, and nephews.
