Meldrum Mortuary & Crematory
Russell "Rusty" Nolan Vaughn
November 30th, 2002 - February 23rd, 2022
To know Rusty is to know that he believes with all his heart that "It's all about Jesus". How many times have we heard Rusty say "It's all about Jesus". You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3 NKJV Rusty was a man of adventure, having spent many years, alone, exploring the Southwest. He welcomed anyone to join him in the exploration. A framed poster in his shop expressed his heart for adventure "Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes in the middle of nowhere your find yourself" author unknown. Another anonymous poster "The wise don't expect to find life worth living; they make it that way" And Theodore Roosevelt "The farther one gets into the wilderness, the greater is the attraction of its lonely freedom." The last 17 years he was no longer alone. Christ filled the lonely hearts of Rusty and his wife Pam, joining them together in a Christ-centered marriage. Now we know what true love is, loving each other. He now became a grandpa to Anthony and Ceci. Rusty and grandson Anthony road quads, hiked to cliff dwellings, went horseback riding with Billy, repelled off the mountainside, shared their first adventure skydiving together. And most important blessed Anthony and Ceci with the witness of a humble, godly man. Blessed by the marriage of Pam's son Zach to Jody, Rusty developed a deep, loving relationship with Zach and Jody. In his heart they were his son and daughter. Spending Sunday afternoons exploring the meaning of God's word and how we are to apply it in our life. This marriage added four more grandkids in addition to Zach's daughter Alyssa; Courtney, Kayla, Burt, and Callean. Off we went exploring the beauty of the Southwest, camping and riding quads. Rusty and Burt developed a deep bond as they went on "guy" adventures. Blessed also by the marriage of Pam's daughter Sarah to Wade, adding to Sarah's children, Anthony (married to McKenna) and Ceci, Ethan . Ceci and Luis blessing the family with great grandchildren, Aliya, Nayeli, Elias and Isaiah. Rusty is survived by brother Ronnie and wife Debbie. Their son Kevin and wife Carla and their sons Kody, Koleton and Bryce from Spokane WA. Rusty is so proud of this fine family. He is also survived by his brother Jimmy and wife Annie. They shared many outdoor adventures with Rusty. Being from Poplar Bluff, MO, he has cousins, Jan & Roger Degranges and family, Teresa & Charles Smar and son Brian. Rusty's life was enriched by his life-long friends. For forty some years Rusty and Billy talked regularly; asking "what has God been showing you?" Bill, Jack, Ken, Mike, Tony, Delmer and so many more; old and new friends. There are so many of us who can truly say our lives were blessed by this humble, God-loving man, who through his actions lived a life that showed us "It's all about Jesus".
