Ruth C. Montoya, age 86, passed away on Thursday November 23rd, 2017. Ruth made her home in Albuquerque where she enjoyed volunteering with the Catholic community. Ruth was born Rufina Chavez in San Patricio, NM to Pedro and Lorencita Chavez who preceded her in death. She was the eldest of four children and being the eldest, helped raise her siblings. She married Sigfredo Montoya in 1951 and raised three children. Ruth's husband, Sig, preceded her in death in 1968. Ruth then devoted her life to caring for her family and with her strong faith in God was able to provide a comfortable, loving environment for her family. Ruth is survived by her two sons and daughter, Larry and Suzi Montoya of Estancia, NM, Mark and Cindy Montoya of Medanales, NM and Melinda Montoya of Albuquerque, NM, two brothers and one sister, Macario Chavez of San Patricio, NM, Ray Chavez of Albuquerque, NM and Effie Murphy of Los Chaves, NM, 8 grandchildren and many great- great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday November 30th 2017 at Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 and Funeral Mass at 11:00 with burial at Mt Calvary to follow. Ruth's Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Shane Montoya, Gabriel Montoya, Adrian Montoya, Marcos Montoya, Lucas Montoya and Jeff Archuleta.
