Ruthann Nelson, 77, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Nelson was born July 31, 1937 in Lansing, Michigan to Lester and Lois (nee Hoover) Steadman and moved to this area in 1988 from there. She graduated from Eastern Lansing High School. Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Christian Church in Port Charlotte, FL. Mrs. Nelson is survived by her husband, Gary L. Nelson of Punta Gorda, FL; sons, Gary L. (Mary Kay) Nelson, Jr. of John's Creek, GA, Jeffrey A. Nelson of Punta Gorda, FL, and Steven E. (Pamela) Nelson of Port Charlotte, FL; brothers, Sol Steadman of Osprey, FL and Alfred Steadman of Lansing, MI; grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Andrea, Amy, Shelby, and Ryan; and 8 great-grandchildren.
