Severo "Sez” Meza, 65, of Johnstown passed away at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 12, 1953 in Johnstown to Paul Roldan and Vera (Mena) Meza where he grew up and attended schools. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1971 and attended CU Boulder for a year. In April 1972, he married Loretta Jean Montano in Greeley, celebrating 47 years of marriage. Sez worked in construction, specializing in excavation. He was self-employed for 15 years, a highlight working with his son, "Little Sez”. He worked for the Town of Johnstown and most recently Weld County. He loved history, being in the outdoors, Denver Broncos, and spending time with family, especially attending grandkid’s events. Above all, faith and family were most important to him. Sez was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnstown and the Knights of Columbus. Thankful to have shared his life is his wife, Loretta of Johnstown; children, Rita (John) Hooley of Windsor, Robyn of Johnstown, Severo (Vanessa) of Greeley and Robert (Markita) of Windsor; 11 grandchildren, Vince (Bridget), Elizabeth (Christian), Mya, Matthew, Lucas, Marcus, Adalyn, Brooklyn, Maddox, Amani and Alaya; 1 great-grandchild, Louie and an expecting another in November; mother, Vera of Longmont; sisters, Mary Lou Kunna of Longmont and Georgia (Brent) Abrams of Firestone and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Levina Counter and brother, Paul Jr. Recitation of the Rosary 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 28 at Our Lady of Valley Catholic Church, Windsor. Mass of Christian Burial 12’noon Friday with a reception to follow. Inurnment 10 a.m. Monday, July 1 at the Johnstown Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to "St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Knights of Columbus” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634. Friends may leave condolences at AdamsonCares.com.
