“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” Zeph. 3:17 Sharon Delila Rigby, 77, went to be with the Lord on the morning of November 2, 2020 in Peoria, Arizona. Sharon was born on August 18, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Ted and Joyce Hieb. She grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota with her older brother, Ron and her younger brother, Larry. Sharon loved school. She made her mark in high school as one of the Baton Twirlers, helping to lead the marching band to many victories. Her beauty and giving spirit preceded her, shining through as she passed by a young man by the name of Raymond Rigby at a high school dance. It was love at first sight. Sharon was united in marriage to Raymond Lynn Rigby on December 29, 1961. Sharon was delighted to start her life with Raymond. Raymond joined the US Army and served his country as part of the 82nd Airborne Division, serving from 1960 to 1963, while Sharon remained in Bismarck and attended Bismarck Junior College. While attending college, Sharon took a job at the North Dakota State Capitol building, helping to work toward their future. Shortly after Raymond’s return, Sharon gave birth to their son, Randy Lynn Rigby on December 2, 1964 and to their daughter, Shari Linn Rigby (Wiedmann) on September 8, 1969. Sharon was in love with her family and cherished her time at home raising her kids. Raymond and Sharon moved to Cooperstown, North Dakota in 1974, where Raymond worked as a police officer and Sharon was a homemaker. She always put her family and their needs first in every way. She always had a warm smile on her face welcoming her kids home from school and a piping hot sugar cookie to fill their stomachs with some love. During their time in Cooperstown, Sharon taught Sunday school, introducing her family to God. She was a woman who loved Jesus and believed in setting her family up with a foundation of faith. In 1979, Raymond, Sharon, Randy and Shari moved to Phoenix, Arizona to begin the next season of their lives. Sharon continued to care for her family. She worked outside of the home for a couple of years but eventually returned to full-time homemaking as she was ready to be a grandma. Sharon loved preparing her home for the holidays to offer her family years of memories to take with them, passing them down to the next generation. Anytime there was the sound of music, she was dancing and shaking to the beat. With a stroke of eyeliner, the feathering of her hair, and a swipe of her favorite lipstick, she was ready to take on the day. Sharon loved people and those who encountered her, loved her too. She was always ready to help anyone who needed her. She was one of a kind, and her legacy will continue to live on for decades to come. We will always remember the raven haired beauty with a loving personality and a willingness to give to others. She was truly a gift from God that was given to us to cherish. Sharon will be greatly missed by her husband, Raymond Rigby, her son, Randy and his wife, Stephanie Rigby. Her daughter, Shari Wiedmann (Rigby) and her husband, Matthew Wiedmann. Her four grandchildren, Ryan and Lynzy Rigby, Donnie Hollister and Levi Wiedmann; one great-granddaughter, Reagan Rigby. “It is the Lord who goes before you.
