SHELBY D. NULL, age 83 of Jefferson passed away Saturday May 21, 2016 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 6, 1933 in Walnut Mississippi to Robert and Bessie (Dixon) Null. He married Kathleen A. Gleisner on November 28, 1964 in Walnut, MS. Shelby worked in the automotive repair business for over 50 years, owning the Shelby's Sinclair Station in Jefferson, and the Shelby's Mobil Service Station in Jefferson. He also owned the Wal-Shel Taxi service in Jefferson. Over the past 30 years of his 50+ year career he was working with his son Shelby David at Shelby's Auto Repair, along with his son Charles. He will be deeply missed by his wife Kathy Null of Jefferson. His children Jeanne S. (Robert) Lorenz of Bolivar TN, Shelby David Null (Dawn Null) of Jefferson, Dawn M. (John) Merkel of Jefferson, Charles W. Null (Nicky Coy) of Watertown. 7 Grandchildren Norman D. Russell, Andrew S. (Amanda) Merkel, Samantha M. Merkel (Casey Sullivan), Paige L. Null, Drew D. Null, Kaytlynne R. Null, and Kendra-Dale K. Null. 7 Great grandchildren Shelby Marcella Coy Null, Harley Grace, Eli J., Anabelle M., Savannah K., Emma S., and Mia R. Russell. He is further survived by his sister Shirley Hopper of Corinth MS, and his brother R.C. (Sara) Null of Pocahontas TN., as well as many other loving family members and many friends. Shelby is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 6 brothers, as well as many other loving family members. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 28, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A special thank you to the wonderful doctors and nurses, who took such good care of Shelby, from St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Fort Health Care in Fort Atkinson, Alden Estates in Jefferson and Rainbow Hospice.
