Sher Gurley, 69, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21. She was a longtime resident of Los Lunas, and will be missed by many. Sher is preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Don Gurley; her mother, Shirley Jean Daniels-Rolan; her father, Tony Ruvolo; and her granddaughter, Amy Gurley. Sher is survived by her only son, Donovan Gurley and wife, Kelly; her sisters, Lisa Lucero and husband Ray, and Maria Sigmon and husband, Zach; her brothers, Rick Ruvolo and wife, Vickey, and Dean Rolan and wife, Monica; grandchildren, Kyle Gurley and wife, Cruz, Kirby Gurley and Morgyn Archuleta; great-granddaughter, Kylie Gurley. Sher spent her life serving people. She was a waitress for many years, and always had an extra bed for anyone in need. Although Sher only gave birth to one son, many called her mom, including Felix Lucero, Johnny Garnder, Kevin Abers, Jen Abers, Matt Piro, Candido Chavez, Deedra Romero and many others. Sher was a longtime Patriots fan and never missed a game. She loved fishing and roasting chile. She loved all animals, especially her dog, Kate. Sher loved many people, including her best friend of many years, Pam Engstrom and husband, Dick, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews and countless other people she knew. Sher touched many hearts and will truly be missed. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Grace Fellowship Church, 3384 N.M. 47, in Los Lunas.
