Steve Thomas Carlson
March 16th, 1951 - January 8th, 2020
Steven T. Carlson, 68, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at his home in Davenport, Fla. He was born on March 16, 1951, in Jamestown, N. Y., the only son of late Carol and Elmer Carlson. He graduated from Jamestown High School, class of 1969. He earned his bachelors degree in Athens, Ohio, and was also a graduate of Jamestown Community College. Since retiring as an electrician at Cummins Engine in 2001, he lived in various states, including Arizona, Tennessee, Nevada and Florida. Steve is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy Kennedy-Carlson; his two sisters: Candy Joslyn and Jill Gass of St Petersburg, Fla.; daughter, Jessica (Carlson) Slack of Tampa, Fla; stepchildren: Joey Running of Oregon and James Bretz of Washington; and his two grandchildren: Madison and Landon Steven Slack. He loved the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, classic rock music, his convertible, his cats, and the lifelong friendships he made. His friends and family hosted a celebration of his life in Tampa, Fla., and will continue to remember him every time they crank up a good tune, or tip back a “cold one.”
