Funeral services for Steven Franklin Redwine, Sr., 85, of Lexington, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 4, 2022 at the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington. Pastor Julian Boles will officiate. Burial, with US Army honors, will follow the service in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 12:00 - 2:00 PM prior to the service at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Steven Redwine passed away Friday, October 28, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Conway, SC, he was a son of the late William Henry Redwine, Jr., and Florence Mae Williams. He served his country in the US Army, and was deployed to the Arctic during his last deployment. Steven was a salesman for Durkee Famous Foods, and ran several retail clothing and restaurant businesses. He loved sports, was very competitive in bowling, softball, and many others. He was a USC Gamecock and Atlanta Braves fan. In his later years, he developed a green thumb, and grew beautiful vegetables. His humor and his loving heart will be greatly missed by all. Steven is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Myrna Kitchens Redwine; daughter, Brenda Lee Redwine of Lexington; sons, Steven F. Redwine, Jr. (Joani) of Lexington, Gary L. Redwine (Terri) of Prosperity; grandsons, LTC Steven Chad Redwine (Lauren), FSGT Geoffrey Doyle (Sara); great-grandchildren, Natalie Redwine and Liam Redwine; sisters, Judy Faye Norman of Douglas, GA, Stella Marie Tucker of Oakboro, NC, Becky Price of Palm Coast, FL; and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins. Steven is also survived by his loving dog, Cody. In addition to his parents, Steven was predeceased by brothers, William Henry Redwine III, Joseph Redwine, Roger Dale Redwine; sisters, Ramona Rose Hebden, Florence Ann Morris . The family would like to thank the staff of the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center for their thoughtful and attentive care, and Dr. Stan Juk, who was an essential part of Steven's care team.
