Susan Flickinger Susan Flickinger was born January 29, 1956 and passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2021 after a long battle with breast cancer. Sue was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Darlyne Iwen (Schmidt) and one brother Ricky. She is survived by her husband David Flickinger of Denver, CO, three sisters; Vickie DeMille, Lois Larson (Matt), Bonnie Bruns (Rusty) all from Wisconsin and one brother Larry Iwen (Thomas Carroll) from Minnesota. She is also survived by two step-children Clint Flickinger (Melissa) and Miranda Johnston (Dana), six grandchildren (Alicia, Alexia, Hayden, Hunter, Ella and Jade) and 18 nieces and nephews. Sue loved to travel and lived in Wisconsin, Germany, Alabama, Alaska, New Mexico and eventually settled in Colorado which is where she called home. Sue was a lifelong learner and enjoyed books on a wide range of topics. She was an avid animal lover and started her own dog sitting business. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education degree from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. She taught 3rd grade while living in Albuquerque. In addition to teaching Sue also worked as a marketing director at an Alzheimer facility, she was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and was a trained Phlebotomist. As a way of giving back to her community, Sue created an online blog to help other cancer survivors while on their journey of recovery. A celebration of life will be planned for the summer of 2021 with internment at Littleton Cemetery.
