Sylvester Simmons, age 69 of Saint Paul passed away on December 1, 2013. Preceded in death by his sisters Mary Ferguson and Shirley Burch. Survived by his loving wife, LaFlora; children, Lonniell Simmons, Edward A. Peterson, Silvester Robinson, Gino Peterson, Rochelle Betts, Priscilla Simmons, Jhirmon D. Simmons, Jamar D. Simmons, Ja’Nelle Simmons; nieces Jeanett Simmons and Kim Wade; nephews Robert Simmons, Vincent Simmons, Fredrick Simmons, and Michael Simmons; also a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews, family and relatives. Visitation 12:00 – 1:00 pm Monday, December 16th at the Spielman Mortuary Chapel. Service to follow at 1:00 pm.

Spielman Mortuary has been helping Saint Paul families since 1950 when Kenneth and Helen Spielman purchased the National Funeral Home. For over 30 years, the couple lived above the funeral home and took just one vacation. They sold the home in 1984 to the Willwerscheid family. We still operate Spielman Mortuary with the same traditions of pride, sensitivity, value, and attention to detail that the Spielmans followed for over three decades....
