Vincent John Detrano, age 56, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away on September 21, 2016 peacefully with his family and friends surrounding him. A memorial to celebrate Vincent's life will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM on Thursday September 29, 2016 at Lambeth - Troxler Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday September 30, 2016 at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Forest Lawn Cemetery also in Greensboro, North Carolina. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Lambeth - Troxler Funeral & Cremation Service. An additional memorial service to celebrate Vincent's life will be held on Saturday October 8, 2016, at 11:00am at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Ramsey, New Jersey. Vincent was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey on September 3, 1960. He grew up in Ramsey, New Jersey and later graduated from Ramsey High School. Vincent worked as a machinist at Texwipe before taking a position with TYCO Electronics in Greensboro, NC. He enjoyed reading, hiking, and bowling. Vinny was a "Jack of All Trades" as it pertained to anything from household tasks to the most complex mechanical projects. Vincent was also known as the "Human GPS" before there was satellite GPS. He also had a great passion for photography, music, landscaping, and cooking. He made a mean pot of Pasta e Faggioli. Vincent is survived by his wife Daisy L. Detrano; his parents John Vincent and Betty Ann Detrano of Toms River, NJ; two brothers: Michael and wife Sarah Detrano of Greensboro, NC and John Detrano of West Caldwell, NJ; two sisters: Lisa Detrano of Wyckoff, NJ and Maureen and husband Tye Baruffaldi of Ramsey, NJ; five nieces, three nephews, and the rest of his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to NAMI Guilford via www.namiguilford.org. The family of Vincent J. Detrano wishes to thank Beacon Place-Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, NC and the entire staff of Moses Cone Hospital of Greensboro, NC.
