Obituary Weston Call 32, died unexpectedly in his sleep of natural causes at his home on Rancho Rico, in Big Sur on August 12, 2018. Weston, a fourth generation Carmelite, loved his family roots on both the West and East Coasts. He attended Junipero Serra School, Chartwell and was a graduate of the Class of 2004 at Carmel High School, where he played on the water polo and swim teams. His love of the outdoors was nourished in his early life as a Boy Scout with Troop 3 in Carmel. Weston received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Humboldt State University in 2010. Weston was operating his company, Sur Transportation, LLC, in Big Sur, most recently providing service to Pfeiffer Beach through Sycamore Canyon. This was a demonstration project designed to relieve what had become a significant public safety problem associated with the overuse of the area. Weston's ability to collaborate and bring communities together to solve problems shined brightly in both the 2018 Sycamore Canyon Shuttle project and the Pfeiffer Bridge Shuttle project which operated from July through October 2017. In addition his company supported transportation for Big Sur weddings and events. He devoted extensive time and talent to Big Sur Food and Wine, in support of many local Big Sur nonprofits. His ambitions included a new career as a local Realtor with Keller Williams Coastal Estates. Weston loved all outdoor activity, including hiking, backpacking, mountain biking and most of all surfing. He had the opportunity to travel to Chile where he enjoyed his favorite sport. He loved life. His infectious smile, unique spirit and humor, his genuine outgoing nature, produced friendships all over the world including communities from Burning Man as well as his beloved Big Sur and Carmel. His parents and brother are so grateful to his friends and extended family for the outreach of love. He will be greatly missed. Weston is survived by his parents, Brian and Galen of Carmel and brother Andrew (Venice, CA). Weston's family has established a fund at the Community Foundation for Monterey County. It is the family's desire that this Fund will be a lasting tribute to Weston who loved the Big Sur Community with all his heart. Memorial gifts can be made to the Weston Call Fund for Big Sur, Community Foundation for Monterey County, 2354 Garden Road, Monterey, CA 93940, or online at www.cfmco.org/WestonCall. A Memorial Mass will take place at the Carmel Mission Basilica on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
