William George Scheck passed into the eternal arms of his Lord and Saviour December 6, 2010 at home after a long illness. He was born August 27, 1939 to Charlotte Beckman Scheck and William Scheck in Chicago, Illinois. Bill graduated from Purdue University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi, with a degree in Materials Engineering and earned a Master’s Degree from San Diego State University in Mechanical Engineering. He was a pioneer in the field of composite and high temperature materials, and performed important work in defense of his country. Bill was retired from Raytheon Missile Systems where he was a member of the Spruce Goose Golf Club. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Catharin Knight Scheck; two daughters, Lisa Breen and Wendi Vierra, both of San Diego; a son, Robb Scheck, currently serving in Christ’s mission in Nairobi, Kenya; five grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Scheck of Jacksonville, FL. He was predeceased by his brother, Clifford Scheck.
