Mary Berson, 85, succumbed to complications from Alzheimer's disease on Thursday December 15, 2011.
She was married to Sidney Berson for over 61 years; he pre-deceased her by two days. Mary cashiered in her husband's Steak & Sundae and Campus Arcade restaurants for many years while raising two sons. She loved traveling with her family to Food Service Executive conventions, dressing up, and being with family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Tom and Mabel Jabaut and a life resident of Syracuse.
Survived by her sons, Steven (Sonny) and Gregory (Lee); grandchildren, Casey, Meridith and Alison; sister, Pat and brother, Jim.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205. Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service on Tuesday, from 10 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation.
