Theresa A. Ryan

Theresa A. Ryan, 92, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, at Francis House.

Theresa was an active and beloved member of both the Salvation Army Senior Center and the Frank DeFrancisco Eastwood Community Center. Her love of travel took her far and wide, though she also cherished the comfort of her home, the warmth of her neighbors, and the love of her family, both near and far. A passionate documentarian of her life, Theresa created photo journals that captured her adventures and everyday joys. She also greatly enjoyed "talking story" with others, working with ceramics, collecting cat figurines, and reading.

A woman of deep Christian faith, Theresa lived her life with compassion, generosity, and gratitude. Her faith was a guiding light in her daily actions and in the way she cared for those around her.

Theresa will be remembered for her love of life and her bold, open-hearted way of living it.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Georgina Ryan and Cynthia Ryan-Garcia; her son, William Ryan; and her cherished grandchildren, Shawn Kennedy, Allison Kennedy, and Ian Ryan. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George W. Ryan, with whom she shared many beautiful years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, at the Salvation Army Senior Center, 749 S. Warren St., Syracuse, NY.
