Anne "Annie" Reynolds
August 28, 1942 — July 18, 2014
REYNOLDS, Anne (Annie)
Born on August 28, 1942,passed away on a beautiful Friday morning, July 18, 2014 surrounded by love. Her last days were blessed with love from her sister and great care and comfort from her daughters. Anne was born in Austin, Texas to Marcus and Mary Salazar and lived many years in Chicago before moving to Largo, Florida. Anne attended culinary classes in Chicago and was a proud employee of the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater where she retired after 27 years. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, co-worker, and friend. She was one-of-a-kind and the heart and soul of our family. She had a great love of nature and the environment and all plants thrived in her yard and all insects were made welcome. Among Anne's many passions were flowers, movies, the Library, cookbooks, the YMCA, Kevin Costner, PBS, comics, calendars, and finding tiny hidden treasures at the thrift store with her beautiful daughters. Anne never let the events that happened to her strip her of her will to live and love and laugh. She consciously chose to find the good in each moment. She will be forever loved and missed, for in our hearts she is with us always.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Mary Salazar, and her sisters Delores Wallace and Susie Craft. Anne is survived by her sister Sylvia (Ernie) Marshall, her brother Daniel (Kelly) Salazar, former husband Durwood Reynolds, seven cherished daughters, Mary Brennan, Lisa (Richard) LaRue, Susan Reynolds, Nancy (Patrick) Reynolds, Laura Reynolds, Delores (Kevin) Rose, Sylvia (Steve) Oakman; twelve adored grandchildren, Christopher, Justin, Alex, Emily, Grace, Bobby, Dustin, Andrea, Jessica, Brianna, Jordan, Jared; and two much-loved great-grandchildren, Hunter and Jasmine.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Don D. Luong and the entire staff at Florida Cancer Specialists at Highland Avenue for their love and excellent care.
As Anne loved flowers, flowers are welcome; donations can also be made to a wildlife charity of your choice.
