Eugene Carlton Shank Sr

Eugene C. Shank Sr. "Gene", 88, of Clearwater passed away May 28, 2026, at The Hospice Care Center in Pinellas Park.

Born in New Orleans, LA, to the late Mark Bland and Lillian Grove Shank, before moving to Michigan with his family as an infant. Gene served in the Army National Guard and established a long career at Honeywell, retiring after 37 years. After his retirement he found an interest in helping people improve their health and joined the staff at Boomers Forever Young, Inc. in St. Petersburg.

He was a good family man and a loyal friend, always willing to help people in need. As a dedicated Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, he was a ticket holder since the inaugural 1976 season. He also loved The Threshers Baseball Team and classics cars.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Diane McKenna Shank; three children, Gene Jr. (Angela), Julie and Jeffrey (Shelly); stepchildren, Daniel Clark (Kathy), Barbara Clark-Masters; and brother, James Shank Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Judy Gorrell Shank; and siblings, Mark Shank Jr., Sr. Lillian Shank, O.C.S. and Thomas Shank.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 12:00pm at The Dunedin Country Club, 1050 Palm Blvd, Dunedin FL 34698. A luncheon will follow.
