Mary Louise Bunnell

March 1, 1941 — March 10, 2026

Mary Louise Bunnell, 85, died March 10, 2026 in Clearwater, FL after battling cancer. She was born March 1, 1941 in Claremont, NH, the daughter of Doris (Wright) Barron and the sixth of seven children. She was raised by foster parents and subsequently at the Daniel Webster Home for Children in Franklin, NH. As an infant, she suffered from rickets which delayed her ability to walk and necessitated several hip replacements later in life. Despite being told she would never bear children, she had five: Kenneth, Tammy, William, Mark, and Kim. After having her sciatic nerve cut during her hip replacement in 2009, she persevered to walk and overcome every obstacle.

She had a variety of occupations from making combat boots at Claremont Maid Footwear in Claremont, NH to breeding Pekingese dogs to running a housekeeping business. She was often a caretaker for her 6 brothers and sisters as well as for other relatives, friends, and neighbors. She volunteered for the American Legion and always had a flag proudly displayed. She famously sent cards on birthdays and holidays. She treasured her friends, pets, and nature.

Mary was loving, caring and generous to a fault. While married multiple times, in 2018, she married her best friend of forty years, David George Bunnell (raised in Claremont, NH) in a ceremony in Clearwater, FL. Mary is survived by her son, Kenneth Sargent; step-children Jeanine Bunnell Ouelette, Brent Bunnell, Lonny Bunnell; 7 grandchildren, and her long-haired chihuahua, FiFi. Memorial tributes are supported through A Life Tribute Funeral Care of Largo, FL.
