It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Arlene Louise Uptmor who passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 9, 2026.

Arlene was born April 14, 1935 in Russell, Idaho, to Frank and Mary Schuch. She was the youngest of four children, with three brothers and one sister. She attended a one room schoolhouse and later graduated from Nez Perce. She attended Holy Names College in Spokane for three years.

On June 30, 1956, Arlene married the love of her life Earl Uptmor at Holy Trinity Church in Nez Perce. The couple first lived in Keuterville, where they welcomed their son, Duane on April 21, 1957. Arlene was very active helping Earl on the farm while also caring for their son. She served on the Board of the Keuterville Extension Club.

In 1961, the family moved to Meridian, Idaho, where they purchased their first dairy farm. Arlene was very active in the dairy farming community and belonged to the Treasure Valley Dairy Wives along with Idaho Dairy Wives.

In 1968, Arlene graduated from Boise College with a degree in Elementary Education and began a long and rewarding teaching career in the Treasure Valley. She taught at several different schools until her retirement.

After retiring, Earl and Arlene purchased the home of her dreams and spent many happy years traveling with family and friends. Arlene was an avid Boise State fan, and they enjoyed taking several trips to watch them play.

Arlene has many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and was proud of all they have accomplished. She especially treasured her role as Grandma and Great-Grandma and embraced it with endless enthusiasm.

She was deeply involved with the Catholic Church and community throughout her life and remained active in several organizations until her passing.

Arlene will always be remembered for her warm smile, friendly hello, and genuine interest in others. She had a special gift for making people feel welcome and always seemed to know the right thing to say.

Arlene leaves a legacy of love, kindness, faith, and dedication to her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Service will be held on June 12, 2026, beginning with a 9:30 AM Rosary, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 1122 W Linden St., Caldwell, Idaho, 83605.
